الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
إن جَعَلتَ دِينَكَ تَبَعاً لِدُنياكَ أهلَكتَ دينَكَ وَ دُنياكَ وَ كُنتَ في الآخرةِ مِن الخاسِرينَ، إن جَعَلتَ دُنياكَ تَبَعاً لِدينِكَ أحرَزْتَ دِينَكَ وَ دُنياكَ وَ كُنتَ في الآخرةِ مِن الفائزينَ.
Si tu subordonnes ta religion à ta vie terrestre, tu anéantiras ta religion ainsi que ta vie terrestre, et tu seras parmi les perdants dans l Au-delà. En revanche, si tu subordonnes ta vie terrestre à ta religion, alors tu gagneras ta religion et ta vie terrestre, et tu seras parmi les victorieux dans l Au-delà.

The author of this book is Nasih al-Din Abu l-Fath 'Abd al-Wahid b. Muhammad b. 'Abd al-Wahid Tamimi al-Amidi (d. 510/1116-7)[1]. Very little is known about his life apart from that he was a judge from Amid (now Diyarbakır, Turkey).[2] He has written another book called Jawahir al-kalam fi al-hukm wa al-ahkam min qissat sayyid al-anam.
