The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Four qualities, when possessed by a person, cause Allah to transform his evil deeds into good deeds, even if he is sinful from head to toe. They are: honesty, modesty, good character and thankfulness.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
It is written in the Torah: 'Be thankful to the one who does good to you, and do good to the one who thanks you, for verily your blessings will not cease to exist as long as you give thanks, just as it will not remain for you if you should be ungrateful. Thankfulness [to Allah] brings about increase in blessings and security against alterations.'

Imam al-Kazim (as):
The Prophet was asked about the best servants of God, to which he replied: 'They are the ones who rejoice when they do something good, and seek forgiveness when they do something wrong. When they are given something, they give thanks, when they are afflicted with an ordeal, they are patient and when they get angry, they pardon.'

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
It is written is Torah: "Be thankful to the one who does good to you and do good to those who are thankful to you; for indeed blessings will not perish as long as you give thanks for them just as they will not remain if you are ungrateful for them. Thankfulness increases blessings and preserves them from alteration."

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
A believer should possess eight qualities: He should be composed and dignified in tribulations, patient in the face of calamities, thankful in times of comfort, and content with whatever sustenance Allah has provided for him. He does not do injustice to his enemies. He does not place his burden on his friends. His own self is exhausted because of him, whereas people are at ease when being with him. Knowledge is the friend of the believer, forbearance is his minister, intellect is the commander of his army, lenience is his brother and righteousness is his father.

Imam Ali (as):

Imam Ali (as):
