Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as): I asked Imam al-Sadiq (as) about the words of God: "Whoever kills a person—unless it is for murder or corruption on earth—it is as if he has killed the whole of mankind; and whoever saves it, it is as if he has saved the whole of mankind." He replied: "One who brings a person out of error and into guidance it is as if he has saved his life, and one who brings a person out of guidance and into error it is as if he has killed him." al-Kāfī
