Imam al-Kazim (as): O Hisham, the right course has been appointed [for people] to obey Allah, there is no deliverance unless through obedience [to Allah], obedience is achieved with knowledge, knowledge is acquired through learning and learning is solidified by intellect. Knowledge can only be gained from a divine scholar, and the recognition of knowledge is by intellect. al-Kāfī
