The Prophet Muhammad (S):
When a young person gets married at the prime of his youth, his inner Satan cries out in rage, ‘Woe unto him! Woe unto him! he has now secured two-thirds of his religion against me.’ So he has only to be wary of his duty to Allah in the remaining one-third.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
On the Day of Resurrection, the feet of the servant will not slip until he is asked about four things: his years and how he spent them, his youth and how he wasted it, his wealth, whence he earned it and how he spent it, and our love, the people of the household (Ahl al-bayt).'

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Take from your soul for your soul; take from it in your good health before illness [strikes you], in your strength before weakness and in your lifetime before death overtakes you.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam al-Sadiq (as) once asked a man, 'Who do you consider a fata?' to which the man replied, 'A young man.' Imam said, 'No, a fata is a believer, for verily the Companions of the Cave were middle-aged men, yet Allah called them fitya [plural of fata] because of their belief.'

The Arabic term 'fata' refers to youth but has acquired a meaning related much more to the youth associated with the eternal spring of the life of the spirit than to physical young age. Such a person, possessing futuwwa or 'spiritual chivalry', would be adorned with chivalrous characteristics of courage and generosity, and would be regarded with awe, reverence and trust by other Muslims.;

Imam Ali (as):
Make good use of your youth before senility, and your good health before your ailment.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
I only like to see the young man from among you occupied in either of two states: learning or teaching...

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The best of my community are those who spend away their youth in Allah s obedience, wean themselves away from the worldly pleasures and are infatuated with the Hereafter. Surely their reward upon Allah is the highest levels of Paradise.
