الإمام محمد الباقر (عليه السَّلام):
إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَعْلَمَ أَنَ فِيكَ خَيْراً، فَانْظُرْ إِلى قَلْبِكَ، فَإِنْ كَانَ يُحِبُّ أَهْلَ طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ وَ يُبْغِضُ أَهْلَ مَعْصِيَتِهِ، فَفِيكَ خَيْرٌ وَ اللَّهُ يُحِبُّكَ؛ وَ إِنْ كَانَ يُبْغِضُ أَهْلَ طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ وَ يُحِبُّ أَهْلَ مَعْصِيَتِهِ، فَلَيْسَ فِيكَ خَيْرٌ وَ اللَّهُ يُبْغِضُكَ، وَ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ.
If you wish to know if there is good in you, then look at your heart; If you feel in your heart love for those obedient to Allah and hate for those disobedient to Him, then there is good in you and Allah loves you. However, if you feel in your heart hate for those obedient to Allah and love for those disobedient to Him, then there is no good in you and Allah hates you; and a man will be raised with those he loves.

Abū Jaʿfar, Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb b. Isḥāq al-Kulaynī Al-Rāzī (Arabic: ابوجعفر، محمّد بن یعقوب بن اسحاق الرازی) (c. 255/868-9 - 329/941) was among the greatest Shi'a hadith scholars and the author of al-Kafi, the most authentic Shi'a hadith collection and one the Four Books. He was born after the martyrdom of Imam al-'Askari (a), at the time of Imam al-Mahdi (a) and met some hadith transmitters who directly had heard hadiths from Imam al-Hadi (a) and Imam al-'Askari (a). It is said that al-Kulayni was very accurate in transmitting hadiths. Ibn Qulawayh, Muhammad b. Ali Majilawayh al-Qummi, Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Zurari were among his students.
