Imam Ali (as):
O Kumayl, enjoin your people to spend the day attaining noble traits and to go out in the night to fulfil the needs of those who are asleep.

Imam al-Kazim (as):
My father, once, held my hand and said, 'My son, my father; Muhammad ibn Ali (al-Baqir) once held my hand as I am holding yours right now and said, …My son, do good to everyone who seeks good from you, for if he is worthy of it, then you have deposited it in its proper place, and even if he is not worthy of good, you are worthy of doing it. And if someone insults you on your right hand side, then moves over to your left and apologizes to you, accept his apology.'

Imam al-Reḍa (as):
He whose believing brother comes to him with a need, [should know] that it is a mercy from Allah, Mighty and Exalted, that He has directed towards him, so if he embraces it [and fulfills his need], it will connect him to our Wilayah and our Wilayah is connected to the Wilayah of Allah.

Imam al-Kazim (as):
When a believer is presented with a need that his fellow brother is struggling with, but is unable to fulfil it, thereby feeling grief in his heart, Allah will admit such a believer into Paradise on account of his grief.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
He whose believing brother comes to him with a need, [should know] that it is a mercy from Allah, Blessed and most High, that He has referred to him, so if he accepts it [and fulfills his need], it will connect him to our Wilayah and our Wilayah is connected to the Wilayah of Allah.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
No sooner does a Muslim fulfill the need of another Muslim than Allah calls out to him saying, 'Your reward is upon Me and I will not assent to anything for you less than paradise.'

Imam Ali (as):
One of the signs of gallantry is that when you are asked [for a need] you go to lengths to fulfil it, and when you have a need to ask for, you make it light.

Imam Ali (as):
Indeed, people's needs from you are among God's blessings upon you, therefore, you must seize the opportunity to fulfill those needs and never grow tired of fulfilling them; otherwise they will change into a calamity.

Imam Ali (as):
I wonder at a man whose brother comes to him with a need but he refrains from fulfilling it and does not deem himself worthy of doing good. Let's suppose that he does not expect any reward and fears no punishment, but does he have no interest in noble moral traits?!
