الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
المؤمنُ بَينَ مَخافَتَينِ: ذَنبٌ قَد مَضى لا يَدْري ما صَنعَ اللّهُ فيهِ، وَ عُمرٌ قَد بَقيَ لا يَدْري ما يَكْتَسِبُ فيهِ مِن المَهالِكِ، فَهُو لا يُصْبِحُ إلّا خائفاً وَ لا يُصْلِحُهُ إلّا الخَوفُ.
Le croyant est entre deux craintes: celle d un péché commis dans le passé alors qu il ne sait pas ce qu Allah [a décidé] pour ce qu il a fait [s Il lui a pardonné ou pas], et celle liée à la vie qu il lui reste et le fait qu il ne sait pas ce qu il va perpétrer comme péchés destructeurs. Ainsi, le croyant ne se réveille le matin que dans un état de crainte et il n est réformé que par sa crainte.

Abū Jaʿfar, Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb b. Isḥāq al-Kulaynī Al-Rāzī (Arabic: ابوجعفر، محمّد بن یعقوب بن اسحاق الرازی) (c. 255/868-9 - 329/941) was among the greatest Shi'a hadith scholars and the author of al-Kafi, the most authentic Shi'a hadith collection and one the Four Books. He was born after the martyrdom of Imam al-'Askari (a), at the time of Imam al-Mahdi (a) and met some hadith transmitters who directly had heard hadiths from Imam al-Hadi (a) and Imam al-'Askari (a). It is said that al-Kulayni was very accurate in transmitting hadiths. Ibn Qulawayh, Muhammad b. Ali Majilawayh al-Qummi, Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Zurari were among his students.
