الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
الصَّبرُ فِي الاُمورِ بمَنزِلَةِ الرَّأسِ مِنَ الجَسَدِ ، فإذا فارَقَ الرَّأسُ الجَسَدَ فَسَدَ الجَسَدُ ، و إذا فارَقَ الصَّبرُ الاُمورَ فَسَدَتِ الاُمورُ .
Imam Ali (as):
The status of patience in one’s affairs is the same as that of the head to the body; just as the body starts to decay if the head is cut from it, likewise the affairs are ruined if patience departs from them.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
وَ الصَّبْرُ فِي الْأُمُورِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الرَّأْسِ مِنَ الْجَسَدِ، فَإِذَا فَارَقَ الرَّأْسُ الْجَسَدَ، فَسَدَ الْجَسَدُ، وَ إِذَا فَارَقَ الصَّبْرُ الْأُمُورَ، فَسَدَتِ الْأُمُورُ.
Imam Ali (as):
Patience in one's affairs is as crucial as the head to the body; just as the body decays when the head is slain from it, likewise when one loses patience in his affairs, his affairs will get spoiled.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
إِنَّ سُوءَ الْخُلُقِ لَيُفْسِدُ الْعَمَلَ، كَمَا يُفْسِدُ الْخَلُّ الْعَسَلَ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Verily ill nature spoils one's deeds just as vinegar spoils honey.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
مَنْ فَحُشَ عَلى أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ، نَزَعَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بَرَكَةَ رِزْقِهِ، وَ وَ كَلَهُ إِلى نَفْسِهِ، وَ أَفْسَدَ عَلَيْهِ مَعِيشَتَهُ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Whoever uses foul language against his Muslim brother Allah snatches away the benediction in his sustenance, leaves him to be on his own and thwarts his efforts at earning a livelihood.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
إِذَا أَذْنَبَ الرَّجُلُ خَرَجَ فِي قَلْبِهِ نُكْتَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ، فَإِنْ تَابَ انْمَحَتْ، وَ إِنْ زَادَ زَادَتْ حَتّى تَغْلِبَ عَلى قَلْبِهِ، فَلَا يُفْلِحُ بَعْدَهَا أَبَداً.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
When a man commits a sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents, it is effaced, but if he continues committing it, the spot increases and grows until it engulfs the whole heart, after which he can never again prosper.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
كَانَ أَبِي عليه السلام يَقُولُ: مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَفْسَدَ لِلْقَلْبِ مِنْ خَطِيئَةٍ؛ إِنَّ الْقَلْبَ لَيُوَاقِعُ الْخَطِيئَةَ، فَمَا تَزَالُ بِهِ حَتّى تَغْلِبَ عَلَيْهِ، فَيُصَيَّرَ أَعْلَاهُ أَسْفَلَهُ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) would often say: 'Nothing is more corruptive to the heart than sin. Verily the heart indulges in sins and remains in this state until the sins engulf the whole heart and turn it upside down.'

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ: عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ: قَوْلُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: «مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْساً بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّما قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعاً وَ مَنْ أَحْياها فَكَأَنَّما أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعاً»؟ قَالَ: «مَنْ أَخْرَجَهَا مِنْ ضَلَالٍ إِلى هُدًى فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَاهَا، وَ مَنْ أَخْرَجَهَا مِنْ هُدًى إِلى ضَلَالٍ فَقَدْ قَتَلَهَا».
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
I asked Imam al-Sadiq (as) about the words of God: "Whoever kills a person—unless it is for murder or corruption on earth—it is as if he has killed the whole of mankind; and whoever saves it, it is as if he has saved the whole of mankind." He replied: "One who brings a person out of error and into guidance it is as if he has saved his life, and one who brings a person out of guidance and into error it is as if he has killed him."

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
صَدَقَةٌ يُحِبُّهَا اللَّهُ: إِصْلَاحُ بَيْنِ النَّاسِ إِذَا تَفَاسَدُوا، وَ تَقَارُبُ بَيْنِهِمْ إِذَا تَبَاعَدُوا.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
A charitable act that Allah loves indeed is reconciling people when they have become estranged to one another, and bringing them close together when they have become distanced from each other.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله: مَنْ عَمِلَ عَلى غَيْرِ عِلْمٍ، كَانَ مَا يُفْسِدُ أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا يُصْلِحُ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
He who engages in an activity without knowledge will end up causing more damage [or corruption] than making any improvement.
