الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام مِن كِتابِهِ للأشتَرِ لَمّا وَلّاهُ مِصرَ: إنّما يُستَدَلُّ علَى الصّالِحينَ بِما يُجري اللّهُ لَهُم على ألسُنِ عِبادِهِ، فلْيَكُن أحَبَّ الذَّخائرِ إلَيكَ ذَخيرَةُ العَمَلِ الصّالِحِ، فاملِكْ هَواكَ، وشُحَّ بِنَفسِكَ عَمّا لا يَحِلُّ لَكَ؛ فإنَّ الشُّحَّ بِالنَّفسِ الإنصافُ مِنها فيما أحَبَّت أو كَرِهَت.
L Imam Ali (as) a écrit dans sa lettre à Màlik al-Ashtar lorsqu il le nomma gouverneur d Égypte: En vérité, les vertueux sont connus par les paroles qu Allah fait sortir de la bouche de Ses serviteurs à leur propos. Par conséquent, fais en sorte que ta meilleure provision soit les œuvres pieuses. Maîtrise tes passions et prive ton âme de ce qui ne t est pas licite, car la retenir permet d établir un équilibre dans ce qu elle désire et ce qu elle déteste.

Abū l-Ḥasan Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Mūsawī (Arabic: أبوالحسن محمد بن الحسین الموسوي) (b. 359/969-70 - d. Muharram 6, 406/June 26, 1015) al-Sharīf al-Raḍī (Arabic: الشريف الرضي) was a prominent Shi'a scholar and poet born in Baghdad. Although he is most known for his literary expertise, he was also an expert of jurisprudence and exegesis of the Quran. His most famous work is Nahj al-Balagha, a collection of Imam Ali's (a) sayings and letters. He founded a school named Dar al-'Ilm ( دار العلم, literally "House of knowledge") in which he trained many students, some of whom later became prominent scholars.
