الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
مَنْ أَتْبَعَ الْإِحْسَانَ بِالْإِحْسَانِ وَ احْتَمَلَ جِنَايَاتِ الْإِخْوَانِ وَ الْجِيرَانِ فَقَدْ أَكْمَلَ الْبِرَّ.
Imam Ali (as):
One who repays good [done to him] with good and tolerates errors/ mistakes made by his brothers and neighbors has indeed perfected/ completed righteousness.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
أَحَبُّ الْعِبَادِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَطْوَعُهُمْ لَهُ.
Imam Ali (as):
The most beloved of servants to God are the most obedient of them to Him.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
مَنْ سَلِمَ مِنَ الْمَعَاصِي عَمَلُهُ بَلَغَ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ أَمَلَهُ.
Imam Ali (as):
One whose deed is free/ devoid of acts of disobedience to God will reach of the hereafter what he aspires.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
تَدَبَّرُوا آيَاتِ الْقُرْآنِ وَ اعْتَبِرُوا بِهِ فَإِنَّهُ أَبْلَغُ الْعِبَرِ.
Imam Ali (as):
Contemplate upon the verses of the Quran and take lesson from it, for it contains the most piercing of lessons. Extensive Contemplate upon the verses of the Quran and take lesson from it, for it contains the most effective of lessons.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
لَمْ يَخْلُقْكُمُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ عَبَثاً وَ لَمْ يَتْرُكْكُمْ سُدًى وَ لَمْ يَدَعْكُمْ فِي ضَلَالَةٍ وَ لَا عَمًى.
Imam Ali (as):
God has not created you in vain, nor has He left you neglected, nor has He abandoned you in error and blindness. Almighty God has not created you in vain, and He has not left you neglected, nor has He abandoned you in error and blindness.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
أوَّلُ ما يَجِبُ علَيكُم للّهِ سبحانَهُ، شُكرُ أيادِيهِ وابتِغاءُ مَراضِيهِ.

The first duty incumbent upon you towards Allah, Glory be to Him, is thanksgiving for His favours and seeking out His pleasure.

وقد سُئلَ عن أشقَى الناسِ: مَن باعَ دِينَهُ بِدُنيا غَيرِهِ.
Imam Ali (as):
Imam Ali (as) when asked who the most wretched of all people was, replied, 'He who sells his Hereafter for someone else's profit in this world.'

تَوَقَّوُا المَعاصِيَ واحبِسُوا أنفُسَكُم عنها؛ فإنَّ الشَّقِيَّ مَن أطلَقَ فيها عِنانَهُ.
Imam Ali (as):
Be on your guard against sins and restrain yourself from them, for verily the wretched one is he who gives himself free rein to them.

إنَّ الشَّقِيَّ مَن حُرِمَ نَفعَ ما اوتِيَ مِنَ العَقلِ و التَّجرِبَةِ.
Imam Ali (as):
Verily the wretched person is he who is deprived of drawing any benefit from his intellect and the experiences that he has been granted.
