The Prophet Muhammad (S):
If a sin is committed secretly, then it will not harm except its perpetrator, but if it is committed openly and is not prevented [by others], then it will also harm the public.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
It is sufficient for someone as a fault when he pries into other's faults while he is blind to his own faults, when he reproaches others for the same faults which he can not abandon, and when he bothers his companion by probing into matters that are none of his business.

Imam Hasan al-‘Askari (as):
He who exhorts his brother in secret has indeed adorned him, and he who exhorts him in public has dishonoured him.

Imam Ali (as):
Indeed your good-doing to the enemies and the jealous ones who scheme against you is more irritating to them than your taking an offensive stance against them, and it is also a motivation for their reform.

Imam Ali (as):
The worst of hypocrites is he who enjoins acts of obedience, but does not perform them himself, and forbids wrongdoing but does not refrain from them himself.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Accept the truth from anyone who comes to you with it - be he lowly or noble, even if he is detestable to you. And reject falsehood from anyone who comes to you with it - be he lowly or noble, even if he is beloved to you.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Lo! Fear of people must never prevent any man from telling the truth when he knows it; truly the best jihad is a just word spoken before an unjust ruler.
