فيما ناجَى اللّهُ عَزَّوجلَّ بهِ موسى عليه السلام: يا موسى، لا تُطَوِّلْ في الدُّنيا أملَكَ فَيَقسُوَ قَلبُكَ، والقاسي القَلبِ مِنّي بَعيدٌ.
:
Part of what Allah, the Exalted, told Prophet Moses (AS): 'O Moses, do not prolong your hope in this world for your heart will turn hard, and hard hearts are far away from Me.'

أوحى اللّهُ تبارك وتعالى إلى داوُودَ عليه السلام: إنَّ أهوَنَ ما أنا صانِعٌ بِعالِمٍ غَيرِ عامِلٍ بِعِلمِه أشَدُّ مِن سَبعينَ عُقوبَةً؛ أن اخرِجَ مِن قَلبهِ حَلاوَةَ ذِكري.
:
Allah revealed to Prophet David (as) saying, ‘Verily the least of what I will do to a knowledgeable man who does not act upon his knowledge, which is worse than seventy punishments, is that I remove the sweetness of My remembrance from his heart.’

شَرُّ النَّاسِ مَنْ كَانَ مُتَتَبِّعاً لِعُيُوبِ النَّاسِ عَمْياً لِمَعَايِبِهِ (عَنْ مَعَايِبِهِ)

The worst of people is the one who is so much engaged in following up other people's faults that he fails to see his own faults.

مَنْ شَغَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِمَا لَا يَجِبُ (وَ مَا يُحِبُ) ضَيَّعَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ مَا يَجِبُ (وَ مَا يُحِبُ)

He who occupies himself with what is unnecessary will ruin and lose out on that of his affairs which is necessary.

الإمام محمد الباقر (عليه السَّلام):
قُولوا للناسِ أحسَنَ ما تُحِبُّونَ أن يُقالَ لَكُم؛ فإنَّ اللّهَ يُبغِضُ اللَّعّانَ السَّبّابَ الطَّعّانَ علَى المؤمنينَ، الفاحِشَ المُتَفَحِّشَ، السائلَ المُلحِفَ.
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
Say unto people the best of what you would like them to say to you, for Allah hates the curser, swearer, and slanderer of believers, the user of obscene language and to do it shamelessly, and the importunate beggar.
