Imam Ali (as):
O seeker of knowledge! Verily the scholar has three signs: Knowledge, clemency, and silence. And an ignorant man who feigns knowledge has three signs: he quarrels with his superior by disobeying him, wrongs his subordinates by trying to dominate them and supports the oppressors.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
The ambition of knowledgeable people is compliance [with their knowledge] whereas the ambition of the fools is narration of knowledge.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The worthiest of people are those who have the most knowledge, and the least of them in worth are those with the least knowledge.

Imam Ali (as):
A two-unit prayer performed by a scholar is better than seventy units performed by an ignorant person, and that is because when a scholar is faced with a trouble, he comes out of it safely by virtue of his knowledge, whereas the ignorant person is torn apart by the same trouble.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):

Imam al-Reḍa (as):
God is all-aware in the sense that nothing escapes His attention or evades Him, [His knowledge being] independent of experience or consideration of things, for experience and consideration in turn produce two types of knowledge, without which He would not know [if he were to be dependent on them], and would therefore be ignorant.
