إنّ الشَّيطانَ يُديرُ ابنَ آدمَ في كلِّ شيءٍ ، فإذا أعياهُ جَثَمَ لَهُ عِندَ المالِ فأخَذَ برَقَبَتهِ .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Verily Satan manipulates the son of Adam in everything, and once he exhausts him, he mounts him by means of wealth and seizes his neck.

Imam Ali (as):
Do not spend your wealth committing acts of disobedience [to God], otherwise, you will be present before your Lord [on the Day of Judgment] with no good deeds [in your records of deeds].

إنّما أهلَكَ مَن كانَ قَبلَكُم أنَّهُم مَنَعُوا الناسَ الحَقَّ فاشتَرَوهُ، وأخَذُوهُم بالباطِلِ فاقتَدَوهُ.
Imam Ali (as):
Indeed those before you were ruined due to the fact that they deprived people of their rights and subsequently they resorted to buying them [by bribing them], and they forced them into falsehood and they followed.

دِرهَمُ ربا أعظَمُ عِندَ اللّهِ عزّوجلّ مِن سَبعينَ زَنيةً كلّها بِذاتِ مَحرمٍ في بيتِ اللّهِ الحرامِ.
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
A dirham earned by usury is worse in the sight of Allah than seventy counts of incest in the Holy Sanctuary of Allah.
