Verily generosity has a set limit, which if overstepped, turns into squandering. Prudence has a limit, which if overstepped, becomes cowardice. Economizing has a limit, which if overstepped, turns into miserliness. And courage has a set limit, which if overstepped, becomes foolhardiness.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Whoever averts from a group of Muslims a disaster coming from water or fire becomes deserving of obligatory entrance into Paradise.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam al-Sadiq (as) said, 'Nothing exists without a limit.' I asked, 'May I be sacrificed for you, what is the limit of trust [in Allah]?' He said, 'Conviction.' I said, 'So what is the limit of conviction?' He said, 'That you do not fear anything apart from Allah.'

Imam al-Kazim (as):
He who has no valorous qualities has no religion, and one who has no intellect has no valor, and the person with the highest status is one in whose eyes the world holds no value. Verily there is no price for your soul except for Paradise, so do not sell it for anything else.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The example of the believer is that of the tree the leaves of which never fall whether in winter or summer. He was then asked what tree that was to which he replied; 'It is the date-palm.'

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam al-Sadiq (as) once asked a man, 'Who do you consider a fata?' to which the man replied, 'A young man.' Imam said, 'No, a fata is a believer, for verily the Companions of the Cave were middle-aged men, yet Allah called them fitya [plural of fata] because of their belief.'

The Arabic term 'fata' refers to youth but has acquired a meaning related much more to the youth associated with the eternal spring of the life of the spirit than to physical young age. Such a person, possessing futuwwa or 'spiritual chivalry', would be adorned with chivalrous characteristics of courage and generosity, and would be regarded with awe, reverence and trust by other Muslims.;
