إِيَّاكَ وَ مَوَاطِنَ التُّهَمَةِ- وَ الْمَجْلِسَ الْمَظْنُونَ بِهِ السُّوءُ فَإِنَّ قَرِينَ السَّوْءِ يُغَيِّرُ جَلِيسه .
Imam Ali (as):
Stay away from places of suspicion and an assembly which is thought to be corruptive, for an evil friend tends to seduce his companion.

الكبائرُ سَبعٌ : قَتلُ المؤمِنِ مُتَعَمِّداً ، و قذفُ المُحصَنَةِ ، و الفِرارُ مِنَ الزَّحفِ ، و التَّعَرُّبُ بعدَ الهِجرَةِ ، و أكلُ مالِ اليتيمِ ظُلماً ، و أكلُ الرِّبا بعدَ البَيِّنَةِ ، و كُلُّ ما أوجَبَ اللّهُ عليهِ النارَ .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
There are seven grave sins: intentionally killing a believer, falsely accusing a chaste woman of fornication, fleeing from the midst of a battle, returning to a state of renegation after belief, unjustly usurping the property of the orphan, devouring usury after knowledge of its prohibition, and everything else that Allah has threatened to requite with obligatory punishment in the Fire.

إذا اتَّهَمَ المؤمنُ أخاهُ انْماثَ الإيمانُ مِن قلبِهِ كما يَنْماثُ المِلحُ في الماءِ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
When a believer brings an accusation against his fellow brother, his faith disappears from his heart like salt disappears in water.

«مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَ الْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، فَلَا يَجْلِسْ‏ مَجْلِساً يُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ إِمَامٌ، أَوْ يُعَابُ فِيهِ مُؤْمِنٌ».
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day must not sit in an assembly wherein an Imam is belittled or a believer reproached.

إِذَا اتَّهَمَ الْمُؤْمِنُ أَخَاهُ انْمَاثَ‏ الْإِيمَانُ مِنْ‏ قَلْبِهِ، كَمَا يَنْمَاثُ الْمِلْحُ فِي الْمَاءِ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
When a believer wrongfully accuses his fellow brother, his faith disappears from his heart like salt dissolves in water.

مَنْ رَوى‏ عَلى‏ مُؤْمِنٍ رِوَايَةً يُرِيدُ بِهَا شَيْنَهُ وَ هَدْمَ‏ مُرُوءَتِهِ لِيَسْقُطَ مِنْ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ، أَخْرَجَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ وَلَايَتِهِ‏ إِلى‏ وَلَايَةِ الشَّيْطَانِ، فَلَا يَقْبَلُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Whoever relates something about his brother intending to defame him and tarnish his integrity and discredit him in the eyes of people, Allah will bring him out of His guardianship and into that of Satan, but then even Satan will not accept him.
