الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
الْإِخْوَانُ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَوَاحِدٌ كَالْغِذَاءِ الَّذِي يُحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ كُلَّ وَقْتٍ فَهُوَ الْعَاقِلُ وَ الثَّانِي فِي مَعْنَى الدَّاءِ وَ هُوَ الْأَحْمَقُ وَ الثَّالِثُ فِي مَعْنَى الدَّوَاءِ فَهُوَ اللَّبِيب .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Brothers are of three types: one, like food, is needed all the time and he is the wise friend, another is similar to disease and this is the fool, and the third is like medicine and this is the tactful friend.

. إِيَّاكَ وَ مُصَادَقَةَ الْأَحْمَقِ فَإِنَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَنْفَعَكَ فَيَضُرُّك
Imam Ali (as):
Beware of befriending a fool, for even though he wants to benefit you, he usually ends up harming you.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):
منَ كانَ في قَلبِهِ حَبَّةٌ مِن خَردَلٍ مِن عَصَبِيَّةٍ بَعَثَهُ اللّهُ يَومَ القِيامَةِ مَعَ أعرابِ الجاهِلِيَّةِ .
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Whoever contains even a mustard seed’s weight of partisanship in his heart, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection among the tribes of pagan and clannish Arabia.

لَا غِنى أَخْصَبُ مِنَ الْعَقْلِ، وَ لَا فَقْرَ أَحَطُّ مِنَ الْحُمْقِ.
