الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
إنّ اللّهَ عزّ و جلّ أدّبَ نبيَّه فأحسنَ أدبَهُ ، فلَمّا أكمَلَ لَهُ الأدبَ قالَ : «و إنّكَ لَعلَى خُلُقٍ عظيمٍ» ، ثمّ فَوّضَ إليهِ أمرَ الدِّينِ و الاُمّة لِيَسُوسَ عِبادَهُ .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Verily Allah almighty disciplined His messenger with an excellent discipline, and when He perfected his manners He said: “And indeed, you are of a sublime moral character.” Then He trusted to him the affairs of religion and the Ummah so that he could manage the affairs of His servants.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
عنه عليه السلام : إنّ خَيْرَ ما وَرَّثَ الآباءُ لأبنائهِمُ الأدبُ لا المالُ ، فإنّ المالَ يَذهبُ و الأدبَ يَبقى. قالَ مَسعدةُ ـ راوي الحديث ـ : يعني بالأدبِ العلمَ .
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Verily the best inheritance parents bequeath their progeny are good manners, not wealth, for wealth goes away but good manners stay.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
في وَصِيَّتِه لِابنِه الحَسَنِ عليه السلام: إنَّما قَلبُ الحَدَثِ كالأرضِ الخالِيَةِ ما القِيَ فيها مِن شَي‏ءٍ قَبِلَتهُ، فبادَرتُكَ بِالأدَبِ قَبلَ أن يَقسُوَ قَلبُكَ، ويَشتَغِلَ لُبُّكَ.
Imam Ali (as):
Imam Ali (AS) said in his will to his son, al-Hasan (AS), ‘Verily the heart of a young person is like the untilled earth, which accepts whatever is placed therein. I, therefore, urge you to hasten to self-discipline before your heart hardens, and your mind becomes preoccupied.’

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
إذا رأيت فی غيرك خلقا ذميما فتجنّب من نفسك أمثاله.‏
Imam Ali (as):
When you see a detestable trait in someone, then keep away from the like of it. When you see a trait in someone which seems detestable to you, then avoidthe like of it yourself.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
أحسن الآداب ما كفّك عن المحارم‏.
Imam Ali (as):
The best of manners is that which prevents you from committing sins.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
أفضل الأدب أن يقف الإنسان عند حدّه و لا يتعدّى قدره‏.
Imam Ali (as):
The best of manners is for a man to stop at his limits and to not exceed his status.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
في أوصافِ النّبيِّ صلى الله عليه و آله: وما رُؤي مُقَدِّما رِجْلَهُ بينَ يدَيْ جَليسٍ لَهُ قَطُّ.
Imam Ali (as):
Imam Ali (as) said, describing the Prophet (s), He was never seen stretching his leg out in the presence of someone sitting with him.

الإمام السّجاد (عليه السَّلام):
إلهي، لا تُؤدِّبْني بِعُقوبَتِكَ.
Imam al-Sajjad (as):
O Lord! Discipline me not through Your punishment.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
مَنْ لم يَصْلُحْ على أدبِ اللّهِ لم يَصْلُحْ على أدبِ نفسِهِ.
Imam Ali (as):
A man who is not reformed through the etiquette of Allah will not be rehabilitated through his self-discipline.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
مَنْ تأدّبَ بآدابِ اللّهِ عزّ وجلّ أدّاهُ إلَى الفلاحِ الدائمِ.
Imam Ali (as):
He who adorns himself with the etiquette of Allah, the Exalted, will have lasting prosperity.
