الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
الْكَيِّسُ مَنْ كَانَ يَوْمُهُ خَيْراً مِنْ أَمْسِهِ وَ عَقَلَ الذَّمَّ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ.
Imam Ali (as):
The sagacious person is someone whose today is better than his previous day/ yesterday and keeps himself away from reproach/ blame.

الْحَيَاءُ مِنَ اللَّهِ يَمْحُو كَثِيراً مِنَ الْخَطَايَا.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يُدْخِلُ بِحُسْنِ النِّيَّةِ وَ صَالِحِ السَّرِيرَةِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْجَنَّةَ.

Indeed, Allah enters into Paradise whomever He wishes of His servants for their good intention and righteous nature.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
قالَ أبو عَبدِاللّه عليه السلام لرَجُلٍ: ما الفَتى عِندَكُم؟ فقالَ لَهُ: الشابُّ، فقالَ: لا، الفَتى: المُؤمِنُ، إنَّ أصحابَ الكَهفِ كانوا شُيُوخا فَسَمّاهُمُ اللّهُ عَزَّوجلَّ فِتيَةً بِإيمانِهِم.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam al-Sadiq (as) once asked a man, 'Who do you consider a fata?' to which the man replied, 'A young man.' Imam said, 'No, a fata is a believer, for verily the Companions of the Cave were middle-aged men, yet Allah called them fitya [plural of fata] because of their belief.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
خادِعْ نفسَكَ في العِبادَةِ، وارفُقْ بها ولا تَقهَرْها، وخُذْ عَفوَها ونَشاطَها، إلّا ما كانَ مَكتوبا علَيكَ مِن الفَريضَةِ، فإنّهُ لابُدَّ مِن قضائها وتَعاهُدِها عندَ مَحَلِّها.
Imam Ali (as):
Lure your soul to worship, and be lenient towards it, and do not force it. Accept its excuse and take advantage of its vitality, except what has been prescribed for you as an obligation; for they must be performed, and carried out at their right time.
