Imam Ali (as):
The man with the most comfortable lifestyle is he whom Allah, Glory be to Him, has granted contentment and to whom he has given a virtuous wife.

Imam al-Kazim (as):
O Hisham, He who wants freedom from need without the need for riches, and comfort of the heart free from jealousy, and security in his faith should implore Allah, Mighty and Exalted, in his plea for Him to perfect his intellect. He who uses his intellect is content with that which suffices him and once he is content with what suffices him, he becomes free from need. And the one who is not content with that which suffices him [and craves for more] will never experience contentment.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Whoever accepts from Allah the little livelihood, Allah will accept from him the little in actions.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Verily a believer is the one who, when he gets angry, his anger does not make him go beyond the limits of what is right, when he is happy, his happiness does not lead him to committing wrong, and when he has power, he does not take more than what rightfully belongs to him.

Imam Ali (as):
He who is content from the world with that which satisfies his needs, then [he should know that] the very least from the world is enough to satisfy his needs. But the one who is not content with that which satisfies his needs [and wants more], then nothing of what the world contains would be enough to satisfy his needs.
