Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as): Had there been anything less disrespectful than saying 'fie' [to one's parents], Allah would have forbidden it, and so it is the lowest level of insolence. Insolence also includes a man's looking at his parents with a sharp gaze. al-Kāfī
