Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as): No sooner does a servant commit a sin and feels remorse afterwards, than Allah forgives him even before he [verbally] seeks forgiveness, and no sooner does Allah bestow a favor upon a servant and he acknowledges its being from Allah than Allah forgives him even before he thanks Allah for it. al-Kāfī
