Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as): Imam Zayn al-Abidin (AS) would often say to his children, 'Be cautious of lies, both big and small, whether seriously and in jest, for when a man tells a lie about a trivial matter, he will have the audacity to tell a big lie.' al-Kāfī
