Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as): Verily the scholars are the heirs of the prophets. And that is because the prophets did not bequeath gold and silver, rather they bequeathed their words and traditions. And one who grasps any of them has indeed secured an abundant gain. See who it is you take your knowledge from; for there exists, from among us [Ahl al-Bayt] in every generation, just individuals who negate the distortions of extremists, the fabrications of falsifiers and the [false] interpretations of the ignorant ones. al-Kāfī
