Worshippers are of three types: people who worship Allah, Mighty and Exalted, out of fear, and that is the worship of slaves; people who worship Allah, Blessed and most High, seeking to be rewarded thereof, and that is the worship of employees; and people who worship Allah, Mighty and Exalted, out of love for Him, and that is the worship of free men and is the best type of worship.

When you commit an evil deed then follow it with the performance of a good deed to efface it.

Extend your hand in recompense to one who has done good to you, and if you cannot do so, then at least thank him.

Increase in the remembrance of Allah when you enter the market while people are busy, for verily it will be an expiation of your sins and an increase in good deeds, and you will not be recorded down as being amongst the neglectful ones.

One who combats his self and overcomes his anger and attends to obeying his Lord/ is cautious about obeying his Lord, God will raise for him the reward of one who fasts during the day and stands in worship in the night and will make him reach the rank of those who patiently guard the frontiers.

Verily if you are patient, the trials of destiny will befall you and you will be rewarded for them, whilst if you are anxious, not only will the trials of destiny still befall you but you will be sinful.

The world has been named dunya because it is lower than every thing, and the Hereafter has been named akhira because it is the realm of punishment and reward.

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) said, Persevering with an action is harder than [performing] the action itself. Then he was asked, And what doe’s preserving an act mean? The Imam (as) replied, A man maintains relations with his kin and spends in the way of Allah, the One, who has no partners, therefore, [the reward of] a good deed which was done in secret is recorded for him, then he mentions his good...

Regarding the verse, ‘Whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and never associate anyone with the service of his Lord.’, Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (as) said, A man performs a good deed through which he doe’s not seek to please his Lord, rather he wants people to admire him, wishing that people would hear about it. Such a man has associated partners in the service of his Lord.

The greeting of peace is rewarded the worth of seventy good deeds, sixty-nine of which are rewarded to the initiator and one to the reciprocator [of the greeting].

Stay in touch with one another, be good to one another, have mercy on one another and be righteous brothers just as Allah, Mighty and Exalted, has commanded you.

There are three things regarding which Allah, the Exalted, did not allow any flexibility: returning a trust to its owner, be he good or wicked; keeping one's pact with both the good and the wicked; and kindness to one's parents whether they be good or wicked.

Struggle against your lower desires, overcome your anger, oppose your bad habits, and your soul will be purified, your intellect will be perfected, and you will enjoy the complete reward that is with your Lord.

Blesssed be the one who is remorseful over his errors and compensating over his past sins. Blessed be every remorsful one over his errors who compensates for his past sins.



When two people become friends or accompany each other, the one with the greater reward and the most beloved in Allah s eyes is the one who is the most gentle towards his companion.


Imam al-Sadiq (as), when asked what the position of one who visits one of the Imams would be, replied, 'It is as if he has visited the Prophet (s).'
