Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
The prosperous person takes a lesson from the exhortation of piety even if someone else is meant by it.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
When the knowledgeable man does not act upon his knowledge, his exhortation slips away from the hearts like the rain slips off a flat rock.

Imam Ali (as):
The greatest evil lies in ignoring the sincere advice of a well wishing compassionate person and being deceived by the praise of a flatterer who conceals his enmity towards you.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Among the articles of advice that Allah, Blessed and most High, gave to Jesus son of Mary (as) was, O Jesus, be wary of me, no matter where you are.

Imam Ali (as):
Verily there is no obligation on the Imam except that which has been devolved on him by Allah, namely to convey exhortations, to strive to give good counsel, to keep the prophetic practice alive, to enforce penalties on those liable to them and to issue shares [of taxes and charity] to those who deserve them.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Never start a practice based on an innovation; for a man who initiates a bad practice will incur its sin and the sins of the people who act upon it.

:
Advising his son, Luqman said, My son, learn wisdom and you will become noble, for verily wisdom directs towards religion, it will elevate the slave over the free person, it raises the poor above the rich and it precedes the young over the old.
