عَلامةُ الاْيمَانِ أَنْ تُؤثِرَ الصِّدْقَ حَيْثُ يَضُرُّكَ عَلَى الْكَذِبِ حَيْثُ يَنْفَعُكَ، أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي حَديِثِكَ فَضْلٌ عَنْ عِلْمِكَ وَأَنْ تَتَّقِيَ اللهَ فِي حَدِيثِ غَيْرِكَ
Imam Ali (as):
True belief is this: to prefer a truth that hurts you over a falsehood that benefits you, to ensure that your words don’t outpace your deeds, and to fear God when speaking about others.

[لِرَجُلٍ سَأَلَهُ أَنْ يَعِظَهُ لَا تَكُنْ مِمَّنْ] يَخْشَى الْخَلْقَ فِى غَيْرِ رَبِّهِ وَ لَا يَخْشَى رَبَّهُ فِى خَلْقِهِ
Imam Ali (as):
Imam Ali (AS) said to a man soliciting advice from him, 'Do not be like the one who... fears people with such fear that affects his relationship with his Lord, but he does not fear his Lord in his dealings with people.'
