الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
مَنْ نَظَرَ فِى عُيُوبِ النَّاسِ فَأَنْكَرَهَا ثُمَّ رَضِيَهَا لِنَفْسِهِ فَذَلِكَ الْأَحْمَقُ بِعَيْنِهِ
Imam Ali (as):
The one who pries into the faults of people, rebukes them, and then adopts those faults himself is truly a fool.

مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ خَفِيَّاتِ الْعُيُوبِ حرمَهُ اللَّهُ مَوَدَّاتِ الْقُلُوب .
Imam Ali (as):
He who pursues people’s hidden faults Allah will deprive him of the amity of hearts.

لَا تَتَّبِعَنَّ عُيُوبَ النَّاسِ فَإِنَّ لَكَ مِنْ عُيُوبِكَ إِنْ عَقَلْتَ مَا يَشْغَلُكَ أَنْ تَعِيبَ أَحَداً
Imam Ali (as):
Do not pursue people's faults, for if you use your intellect, you will find that your own faults are enough to occupy you from finding faults with others.

كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ جَهْلًا أَنْ يَجْهَلَ عُيُوبَ نَفْسِهِ وَ يَطْعُنَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِمَا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ التَّحَوُّلَ عَنْهُ.
Imam Ali (as):
It suffices for a man to be considered ignorant if he is unaware of his own faults and discredits others for the same faults he is unable to give up.
