Imam Ali (as):
What a vast difference there is between an act whose pleasure passes away but its (ill) consequence remains, and the act whose hardship passes away but its reward remains.

Imam Ali (as):
The life of this world is but short, and its good, little, its approaching, deception, and its turning away, a catastrophe, its pleasures are transient, and its consequences, enduring.
