الإمام الكاظم (عليه السَّلام):
إنَّ اللّهَ تباركَ و تعالى أكمَلَ لِلنّاسِ الحُجَجَ بِالعُقولِ ، و نَصَرَ النَّبِيِّينَ بِالبَيانِ ، و دَلَّهُم عَلى رُبوبِيَّتِهِ بِالأدِلَّةِ .
Imam al-Kazim (as):
Verily Allah, Blessed and most High, perfected His authoritative proofs for people through the intellects, helped messengers with [eloquent] speech, and guided them to His Lordship through reasoning.

الإمام محمد الباقر (عليه السَّلام):
إِنَّمَا يُدَاقُ اللَّهُ الْعِبَادَ فِي الْحِسَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلى قَدْرِ مَا آتَاهُمْ مِنَ الْعُقُولِ فِي الدُّنْيَا.
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
Verily Allah will bring His servants to account on the day of Judgment in proportion to the level of intellect He has given them in this world.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
قُلْتُ لَهُ: مَا الْعَقْلُ؟ قَالَ: مَا عُبِدَ بِهِ الرَّحْمنُ، وَ اكْتُسِبَ بِهِ الْجِنَانُ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam al-Sadiq (AS) was asked what the intellect was, to which he replied, ‘It is that with which The Beneficent God is worshipped and with which Paradise is attained.’
