الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
يَنْبَغِي لِمَنْ أَرَادَ صَلَاحَ نَفْسِهِ وَ إِحْرَازَ دِينِهِ أَنْ يَجْتَنِبَ مُخَالَطَةَ أَبْنَاءِ الدُّنْيَا
Imam Ali (as):
He who wishes to improve himself and secure his religion must refrain from associating with the children of this world [worldly people].

One who is submissive to his desire has in fact sold his Hereafter for his world.

It amazes me how one who knows [the dignity of] his own self still gets attached to the abode of annihilation.

ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهُ مَنْ رَضِيَ بِدَارِ الْفَنَاءِ عِوَضاً عَنْ دَارِ الْبَقَاءِ.

One who is content with the house of annihilation as a replacement for the everlasting abode has indeed wronged himself.

إنّ للّه سبحانه ملكا ينادى فى كلّ يوم يا أهل الدّنيا لدوا للموت و ابنوا للخراب و اجمعوا للذّهاب.

Allah, glory be to Him, has an angel who calls out every day: 'O people of the world, reproduce [children] for death, construct for destruction, and accumulate [wealth] for annihilations.'
