Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

سَأَلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ رَجُلٍ وَ أَنَا عِنْدَهُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَصَابَتْهُ الْحَاجَةُ قَالَ فَمَا يَصْنَعُ الْيَوْمَ قِيلَ فِي الْبَيْتِ يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ قَالَ فَمِنْ أَيْنَ قُوتُهُ قِيلَ مِنْ عِنْدِ بَعْضِ إِخْوَانِهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع وَ اللَّهِ لَلَّذِي يَقُوتُهُ أَشَدُّ عِبَادَةً مِنْهُ.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

«لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ مَجْلِساً يُعْصَى اللَّهُ فِيهِ وَ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلى‏ تَغْيِيرِهِ».

A believer must not sit in a place where Allah is disobeyed if he is unable to make a change.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

أقرَبُ ما يكونُ العَبدُ مِن اللّهِ جلَّ و عَزَّ إذا خَفَّ بَطنُهُ ، و أبغَضُ ما يكونُ العَبدُ إلَى اللّهِ عَزَّ و جلَّ إذا امتَلَأَ بَطنُهُ .

اِصْبِرُوا على الدنيا فإنّما هِي ساعَةٌ ، فما مَضى مِنهُ فلا تَجِدُ لَهُ ألَما و لا سُرُورا ، و ما لَم يَجِئْ فلا تَدرِي ما هُو ؟ و إنّما هي ساعَتُكَ التي أنتَ فيها ، فاصبِرْ فيها على طاعَةِ اللّهِ ، و اصبِرْ فيها عن مَعصيَةِ اللّهِ .
