Today in Ramadhan (15) - Birth of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (a.s.); Muslim ibn ‘Aqeel leaving Meccah towards Kufah; Birth of Sheikh al-Tusi.

On such a day a blessed son was born to Imam Ali (as) and lady Fatima (as) who was named al-Hassan by the Prophet (s).
He was known for his generosity and kindness to the poor and bondmen, and for his knowledge, tolerance and bravery.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

مَن قَتَلَ نفسَه مُتَعمِّدا فهُو في نارِ جَهنَّمَ خالِدا فيها.

Whoever intentionally kills himself will dwell in the Hellfire forever.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

اصْبِرُوا عَلى‏ طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ، وَ تَصَبَّرُوا عَنْ‏ مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ، فَإِنَّمَا الدُّنْيَا سَاعَةٌ، فَمَا مَضى‏ فَلَسْتَ‏ تَجِدُ لَهُ سُرُوراً وَ لَاحُزْناً، وَ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِ فَلَسْتَ‏ تَعْرِفُهُ، فَاصْبِرْ عَلى‏ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ الَّتِي أَنْتَ فِيهَا، فَكَأَنَّكَ‏ قَدِ اغْتَبَطْتَ‏.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

جاءَ رَجُلٌ إلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه و آله فَقالَ : ما قَبَّلتُ صَبِيّا قَطُّ . فَلَمّا وَلّى قالَ رَسولُ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله : هذا رَجُلٌ عِندي أنَّهُ مِن أهلِ النّارِ .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

إِنَّ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ بِاللَّهِ‏ أَرْضَاهُمْ بِقَضَاءِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ.

Verily those who have the greatest knowledge of Allah are the most satisfied with the decree of Allah, Mighty and Exalted.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

ما أنْعَمَ اللّهُ عزّ و جلّ على عَبدٍ أجَلَّ مِن أنْ لا يَكونَ في قَلبِهِ مَع اللّهِ عزّ و جلّ غَيْرُهُ.

No blessing that Allah has ever bestowed upon a servant is greater than having no one in his heart other than Allah, Mighty and Exalted.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ: وَ عِزَّتِي وَ جَلَالِي‏ وَ عَظَمَتِي وَ عُلُوِّي‏ وَ ارْتِفَاعِ مَكَانِي، لَايُؤْثِرُ عَبْدٌ هَوَايَ عَلى‏ هَوى‏ نَفْسِهِ إِلَّا كَفَفْتُ عَلَيْهِ‏ ضَيْعَتَهُ‏، وَ ضَمَّنْتُ‏ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ رِزْقَهُ‏، وَ كُنْتُ لَهُ مِنْ وَرَاءِ تِجَارَةِ كُلِّ تَاجِرٍ.
