الإمام الكاظم (عليه السَّلام):
إنّ الزَّرعَ يَنبُتُ في السَّهلِ ولا يَنبُتُ في الصَّفا؛ فكذلكَ الحِكمَةُ تَعمُرُ في قَلبِ المُتَواضِعِ، ولا تَعمُرُ في قَلبِ المُتَكبِّرِ الجَبّارِ؛ لأنّ اللّهَ جَعلَ التَّواضُعَ آلَةَ العَقلِ، وجَعَلَ التَّكبُّرَ مِن آلَةِ الجَهلِ.
همانا زراعت در دشت مى رويد و روى تخته سنگ برآمده نمى رويد. حكمت نيز چنين است، در دل شخص فروتن آباد مى شود و در دل انسان متكبّر و گردنفراز آباد نمى شود؛ زيرا خداوند فروتنى را ابزار خرد قرار داده است و تكبّر را ابزار نابخردى.

Al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn b. Shuʿba al-Ḥarrānī (Arabic: الحسن بن علی بن الحسین بن شعبه الحرَّانی) is a Shi'i hadith compiler. His major work on hadith is Tuhaf al-'uqul. There are two works attributed to al-Harrani; al-Tamhis and Tuhaf al-'uqul fi ma ja' min al-hikam wa l-mawa'iz min Al al-Rasul.
