إنَّ الأرضَ لا تَخْلُو إلاّ وَ فِيها إمامٌ، كَيْما إنْ زادَ المُؤمنونَ شَيْئا رَدَّهُمْ ، و إنْ نَقَصُوا شَيْئا أتَمَّهُ لَهُم .

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):

The earth will never be absent of having an Imam, so that if the believers were to add something [to religion] he would refute it, and if they were to omit something from it, he would complete it by bringing it back.
