یَهْرَمُ ابْنُ آدَمَ وَ یَشِبُّ مِنْهُ اثْنَانِ الْحِرْصُ عَلَی الْمَالِ وَ الْحِرْصُ عَلَی الْعُمُرِ.

The Prophet Muhammad (S)

فَنَزِّهُوا أَسْمَاعَكُمْ مِنِ اسْتِمَاعِ الْغِيبَةِ فَإِنَّ الْقَائِلَ وَ الْمُسْتَمِعَ لَهَا شَرِيكَانِ فِي الْإِثْمِ .

Keep your ears away from listening to backbiting, for the backbiter and the one who listens to it are equally guilty of the sin.
