When Amir al-mu'minin was warned of being killed by deceit, he said:

RELATED HADITH

Imam Ali (as)

إيّاكَ و ما يُستَهجَنُ مِن الكلامِ؛ فإنّهُ يَحبِسُ علَيكَ اللِّئامَ و يُنَفِّرُ عنكَ الكِرامَ.

Beware of using offensive and foul language, for it confines you to vile people and dispels honorable people from you.

Imam Ali (as)

مَنِ اتَّقَى اللَّهَ فَازَ وَ غَنِيَ.

Whoever is wary of [his duty] to God will achieve success and become needless.

Imam Ali (as)

في عَهدِهِ إلى مالِكٍ الأشترِ: أنصِفِ اللّهَ وأنصِفِ النّاسَ مِن نَفسِكَ ومِن خاصَّةِ أهلِكَ ومَن لكَ فيهِ هَوىً مِن رَعيّتِكَ، فإنَّكَ إلّا تَفعَلْ تَظلِمْ! ...

Imam Ali (as)

يَنبَغي لِلحاكِمِ أن يَدَعَ التَّلَفُّتَ إلى خَصمٍ دونَ خَصمٍ، و أن يُقَسِّمَ النَّظرَ فيما بينَهُما بالعَدلِ، و لا يَدَعَ خَصما يُظهِرُ بَغيا على صاحِبِهِ.

A judge must refrain from turning his attention to one of the litigants without the other, distribute his glances between them with fairness...

Imam Ali (as)

الْبُخْلُ جَامِعٌ لِمَسَاوِئِ الْعُيُوبِ وَ هُوَ زِمَامٌ يُقَادُ بِهِ إِلَى كُلِّ سُوء.

Miserliness encompasses all vices, and it is a rein with which one is driven to every evil.

Imam Ali (as)

نَظِّفوا بُيوتَكُم مِن حَوكِ العَنكَبوتِ؛ فإنَّ تَركَهُ في البَيتِ يُورِثُ الفَقرَ.

Clean your houses of cobwebs, for leaving them in the house brings about poverty.
