Today in Ramadhan (17) - The Battle of Badr.

On such a day, the battle of Badr which is the first encounter between Muslims and the polytheists took place.
It is also said that the ascension of the Prophet occurred on this night.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

الْغَضَبُ يُفْسِدُ الْإِيمَانَ، كَمَا يُفْسِدُ الْخَلُّ الْعَسَلَ.

Anger spoils faith just as vinegar spoils honey.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

وَ مَا أُعْطِيَ أَحَدٌ مِنْهَا (الدّنيا) شَيْئاً إِلَّا نَقَصَ حَظُّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ.

Nothing from the bounties of this world is given to someone except that it diminishes his share of the Hereafter.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

إِنَّ سُوءَ الْخُلُقِ لَيُفْسِدُ الْعَمَلَ، كَمَا يُفْسِدُ الْخَلُّ الْعَسَلَ.

Verily ill nature spoils one's deeds just as vinegar spoils honey.

سَأَلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ رَجُلٍ وَ أَنَا عِنْدَهُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَصَابَتْهُ الْحَاجَةُ قَالَ فَمَا يَصْنَعُ الْيَوْمَ قِيلَ فِي الْبَيْتِ يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ قَالَ فَمِنْ أَيْنَ قُوتُهُ قِيلَ مِنْ عِنْدِ بَعْضِ إِخْوَانِهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع وَ اللَّهِ لَلَّذِي يَقُوتُهُ أَشَدُّ عِبَادَةً مِنْهُ.
