Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

 اتَّقُوا الحُكومَةَ ؛ فإنَّ الحُكومَةَ إنّما هي لِلإمامِ العالِمِ بالقَضاءِ ، العادِلِ في المُسلمينَ.

Beware of governance, for verily governance is for the Imam who is knowledgeable about judgment, and just among the Muslims.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

لا تُكَرِّهوا إلى أنفُسِكُمُ العِبادَةَ .

Do not make worship loathsome to yourselves [by forcing it upon yourselves].

ما حَجَبَ اللّهُ عنِ العبادِ فَهُوَ مَوضوعٌ عَنْهُم .

That which Allah has concealed from His servants does not apply to them. [they have no responsibility regarding it.]

يَا مُيَسِّرُ، ادْعُ، وَ لَاتَقُلْ: إِنَّ الْأَمْرَ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ؛ إِنَّ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ- عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- مَنْزِلَةً لَاتُنَالُ إِلَّا بِمَسْأَلَةٍ ، وَ لَوْ أَنَّ عَبْداً سَدَّ فَاهُ وَ لَمْ يَسْأَلْ، لَمْ يُعْطَ شَيْئاً؛ فَسَلْ‏ تُعْطَ. يَا مُيَسِّرُ، إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ بَابٍ يُقْرَعُ إِلَّا يُوشِكُ أَنْ يُفْتَحَ‏ لِصَاحِبِهِ‏.
