Imam Ali (as): A rabbi came to Imam Ali (as) asking: O Amir al-Mu’minin, have you seen your Lord while worshipping Him? Imam (as) Replied: I do not worship a Lord Whom I cannot see!’ So the rabbi asked, ‘But how do you see Him?’ Imam (as) replied, ‘Eyes do not perceive Him by looking with the sights; it is the hearts that behold Him with the realities of faith. al-Kāfī
