Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as): Verily a servant prays [to Allah], then Allah, Mighty and Exalted, says to the two angels [appointed for him], 'I have consented to his request, but withhold it [for a while], for I love to hear his voice.' And a servant prays to Allah, and Allah, Blessed and Most high, says, 'Be quick to give him what he wants, for I dislike to hear his voice.' al-Kāfī
