الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
إنْ أرَدْتَ أنْ يُؤْمِنَكَ اللّهُ سُوءَ العاقِبَةِ فاعْلَمْ أنَّ ما تَأْتيهِ مِن خَيرٍ فبفَضْلِ اللّهِ وَ تَوفيقِهِ، وَ ما تَأْتيهِ مِن سُوءٍ فبِإمْهالِ اللّهِ وَ إنْظارِهِ، إيّاكَ وَ حِلْمَهُ وعَفْوَهُ عَنكَ.
Si quieres que Dios te proteja de un mal final [para tu vida], entonces sabed que todo lo bueno que viene es de la gracia de Dios y del socorro divino, y todo lo malo que viene, sabed que Dios lo ha retrasado para vosotros y ya se os ha dado un respiro, para que así estén al tanto de la clemencia y el perdón de Dios.
