Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Of the best deeds in the sight of Allah is bringing happiness to a believer; either by driving away his hunger, or relieving him of his distress, or repaying his debts.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
One who is struck by anxiety or grief or adversity or misfortune or distress, must say: 'Allah is my Lord and I do not associate anything with Him, I put my trust in the Living One who does not die.'

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Be patient with [acts of] obedience to Allah and resist against [acts of] disobedience to Allah, for verily the life of this world is but an hour; as to that which has passed, its joy and grief are gone and as to that which is yet to come, you have no idea how it will turn out. Therefore you should exercise patience in the present hour, for if you do so, it is as if you have spent your entire lifetime in happiness and joy.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
The one who attaches his heart to the world has attached his heart to three things, endless worry, false expectation and an unattainable hope.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
The breath of one who is saddened on our account and is grieved for the oppression done unto us is glorification, and his deep concern for our cause are considered worship.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Whoever brings happiness to a believer makes the prophet happy as well and whoever makes the prophet happy extends it to God. The same happens when someone brings distress to a believer.
