الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
لَا تُبْدِي الشَّمَاتَةَ لِأَخِيكَ؛ فَيَرْحَمَهُ اللَّهُ، وَ يُصَيِّرَهَا بِكَ». وَ قَالَ: «مَنْ شَمِتَ بِمُصِيبَةٍ نَزَلَتْ بِأَخِيهِ، لَمْ يَخْرُجْ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا حَتّى يُفْتَتَنَ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Do not express malicious gloating at your brother [for a sin or misfortune] for Allah will have mercy on him as a result and make it befall you instead.’ He also said, ‘He who gloats over an affliction that has befallen his brother will not leave this world until he is tried similarly.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
«مَنْ لَقِيَ أَخَاهُ بِمَا يُؤَنِّبُهُ، أَنَّبَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ».
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
He who goes to visits his believing brother in order to reprimand him, Allah will reprimand him in this world and the Hereafter.

مَن أنَّبَ مُؤمِنا أنَّبَهُ اللّهُ فِي الدّنيا والآخِرَةِ.

He who reviles a believer will be reviled by Allah in both this world and the Hereafter.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):
إن عَيَّرَكَ أخوكَ المُسلِمُ بِما يَعلَمُ فيكَ فَلا تُعَيِّرْهُ بِما تَعلَمُ فيهِ؛ يَكونُ لَكَ أجرا وعَلَيهِ إثما.
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
If your Muslim brother condemns you for whatever he knows about you, then do not condemn him back for whatever you know about him. You will have a reward whereas he will carry a sin.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):
مَن أذاعَ فاحِشَةً كانَ كمُبتَدِئها، ومَن عَيَّرَ مُؤمِنا بِشَيءٍ لَم يَمُتْ حَتّى يَركَبَهُ.
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The one who exposes someone’s indecent deed is as the one who initiated it, and the one who condemns a believer for something will not die before becoming guilty of it himself.

الخضرُ عليه السلام في وَصِيَّتِهِ لِموسى عليه السلام: يَابنَ عِمرانَ، لا تُعَيِّرَنَّ أحَدا بِخَطيئَةٍ، وَابكِ عَلى خَطيئَتِكَ.

al-Khidr (as), in his advice to Prophet Moses (as) said, ‘O son of Imran, do not ever condemn somebody for a wrongdoing, and cry, instead, over your own wrongdoing.’

كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ جَهْلًا أَنْ يَجْهَلَ عُيُوبَ نَفْسِهِ وَ يَطْعُنَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِمَا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ التَّحَوُّلَ عَنْهُ.
