الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
مَن تَرَكَ الاستِماعَ مِن ذَوي العُقولِ ماتَ عَقلُهُ.

Imam Ali (as):
He who abandons listening to intellectual people, his own intellect dies.

Imam Ali (as)

مَن ذَكَرَ اللّهَ سبحانَهُ أحيا اللّهُ قَلبَهُ ونَوَّرَ عَقلَهُ ولُبَّهُ.

Whoever remembers Allah, glory be to Him, Allah enlivens his heart and illuminates his intellect and the innermost core of his heart.

Imam Ali (as)

احْذَروا الجُبنَ؛ فإنَّهُ عارٌ وَ مَنْقَصةٌ.

Beware of cowardice, for it is a [source of] shame and a defect.

غَيِّروا العاداتِ تَسهُلْ عَلَيكُمُ الطّاعاتُ.

Change your habits and your acts of obedience will become easier for you.

Imam Ali (as)

إذا تَكَلَّمتَ بالكَلِمَةِ مَلَكَتكَ، وإذا أمسَكتَها مَلَكتَها.

If you speak a word it possesses you and if you withhold it you possess it.

في تَصاريفِ الدّنيا اعتِبارٌ.

There is a lesson to be taken from the vicissitudes of this world.

آفةُ الشَّرَفِ الكِبْرُ.

The bane of nobility is pride.
