Imam Ali (as):
Nothing hurts the heart more than sins. There is no fear worse than [the fear of] death. What has passed to those before you is enough of a thought provoker. And death suffices as an exhorter.

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
O Jabir, the Hereafter is an eternal abode while this world is the abode of annihilation and loss. The worldly people are heedless while the believers seem like jurists who contemplate and take lessons.

Imam al-Reḍa (as):
Worship is not [merely] about fasting or praying much, rather worship is to reflect on the affairs related to Allah.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Thinking is the life of the heart of the cognizant just as when someone walks in the darkness with a light and easily gets out of it without much waiting therein.

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
O Hisham, everything has a sign and the sign of intellect is thinking, and the sign of thinking is silence. Everything has a mount, and the mount of intellect is humbleness, and it is enough proof of your ignorance if you commit that which you have been prohibited from.

Imam Ali (as):
