Imam Ali (as):
Verily this world is a house which begins with hardship and ends with annihilation, in its lawful things there is accountability and there is punishment in its unlawful things, he who is rich in it is tested and he who is poor lives in grief.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Whoever gives a verdict to people from their opinion submits to that which they have no knowledge of, and whoever submits to that which he does not have knowledge of is opposing Allah as he permits and prohibits what he does not have knowledge of.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Do not leave the seeking of lawful sustenance, for it is more helpful to you in your religion, and tie your riding camel, and then trust in Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The Prophet (SAWA), in his will to Abu Dharr said, O Abu Dharr, a man will not be among the Godwary until he takes account of himself more than a partner would take account of his [business] partner, such that he knows where his food comes from, where his drink comes from, and where his clothes come from - do they come from the lawful or the prohibited?

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
There is no good in he who does not love to earn lawful wealth with which he can protect his honour, repay his debts and maintain relations with his kin.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Asceticism is not to prohibit oneself that which is allowed. Rather it is to find that which is with Allah more secure than that which is in one s own possession.
