الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
قَالَ عِيسَى اِبْنُ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ : اَلدِّينَارُ دَاءُ اَلدِّينِ وَ اَلْعَالِمُ طَبِيبُ اَلدِّينِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ اَلطَّبِيبَ يَجُرُّ اَلدَّاءَ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ فَاتَّهِمُوهُ وَ اِعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ غَيْرُ نَاصِحٍ لِغَيْرِهِ.
Imam Ali (as):
Imam Ali (AS) said: Jesus the son of Mary said: Money is the plague of religion while scholars are its physicians. Whenever you see a physician drawing the plague upon himself, beware of him and know that he is not an adviser of anyone.

عَوِّدْ نَفْسَكَ السَّمَاحَ وَ تَخَيَّرْ لَهَا مِنْ كُلِّ خُلُقٍ أَحْسَنَهُ فَإِنَّ الْخَيْرَ عَادَة .
Imam Ali (as):
Habituate yourself to Leniency and choose from every set of traits the best of them, for goodness can be adopted by making it a habit.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
عَوِّدْ أُذُنَكَ حُسْنَ الِاسْتِمَاعِ وَ لَا تُصْغِ إِلَى مَا لَا يَزِيدُ فِي صلَاحِكَ اسْتِمَاعُهُ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُصْدِئُ الْقُلُوبَ وَ يُوجِبُ الْمَذَامَّ .
Imam Ali (as):
Accustom your ears to listening attentively, and do not listen to anything that does not benefit your progress, for it contaminates the heart and brings about reproach.

وَ حَقُّ الْوَلَدِ عَلَى الْوَالِدِ أَنْ يُحَسِّنَ اسْمَهُ وَ يُحَسِّنَ أَدَبَهُ وَ يُعَلِّمَهُ الْقُرْآن .

No one is stronger than he who has prevailed over his own self and thus, has it under control, as there is no one weaker than he who, neglecting his own self, has ruined it.
