Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

ثَلاثٌ یَحْجُزْنَ الْمَرْءَ عَنْ طَلَبِ الْمَعالی: قَصْرُ الْهِمَّةِ وَقِلَّةُ الْحیلَةِ وَضَعْفُ الرَّأْیِ

There are three things that hinder a person from seeking the lofty: low ambition, few stratagems, and weak opinion.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ- عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- لَايَسْتَجِيبُ دُعَاءً بِظَهْرِ قَلْبٍ سَاهٍ، فَإِذَا دَعَوْتَ فَأَقْبِلْ بِقَلْبِكَ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقِنْ بِالْإِجَابَةِ.
